Deve-se notar que ambos os conceitos s\u00e3o estudados na ci\u00eancia e est\u00e3o inter-relacionados entre si. Em outras palavras, podemos dizer que a temperatura \u00e9 o subconjunto do calor; isso pode ser desenvolvido definindo ambos os conceitos. Calor \u00e9 a energia total, cin\u00e9tica ou potencial, possu\u00edda pelo corpo. Por outro lado, a temperatura \u00e9 a medida da intensidade do calor presente no corpo. A transfer\u00eancia de energia t\u00e9rmica de um corpo para outro ocorre devido \u00e0 diferen\u00e7a de temperatura dos corpos. Como sabemos, o objeto, seja s\u00f3lido, l\u00edquido ou gasoso, \u00e9 formado por part\u00edculas microsc\u00f3picas como \u00e1tomos, mol\u00e9culas ou \u00edons; o movimento de tais part\u00edculas constitui a energia t\u00e9rmica total do corpo. Quando falamos de energia no caso do calor; \u00e9 a energia total do corpo, ou seja, a energia cin\u00e9tica e a energia potencial. A energia t\u00e9rmica \u00e9 transferida de um objeto para outro devido \u00e0 diferen\u00e7a de temperaturas. O calor sempre flui do objeto mais quente para o objeto mais frio.
